"The life that you have led
doesn't need to be
the only life that you have."

- Anna Quindlen

Jamin and Hilarie Houghton

About us.

If you’re like us, the COVID-19 pandemic ignited a "fear of missing out" (FOMO) on travel. It also urged us to ask ourselves some important questions. Who is important to me? What do I want my future to look like? Where has all the time gone? How do I want to spend the rest of my life?

Big questions.

These questions are driving us closer to each other and closer to our dream. After living in the corporate world for 10+ years, we need a change of scenery. So we’re investing less time driving in Dallas traffic and more time driving our FJ Cruiser to a new adventure. With a rooftop tent — and soon, a renovated Airstream — we’re discovering things across our country, our world and our own backyard. And of course, we’re bringing our 4 year-old Goldendoodle, Magnolia, along for the ride.

Have you ever noticed that some places feel like home? We’ve enjoyed going beyond our Oklahoma roots to find other enchanting places. One might even say our “deeper roots” — like the rolling English hills of the Hoghton Tower castle, the ancestral home of the Houghton family.

If you asked us today, our favorite places are just that — places that feel like home. Jamin is always eager to return to the classic beauty of Great Britain, and Hilarie is forever charmed by the quaint world of Belgium and Switzerland.

New experiences are always fun with friends and family, but after 13 years of marriage, we’re more grateful than ever to be each other’s “ride or die” travel buddy. When we’re not traveling, we’re planning the next trip. You might also catch us binge-watching shows like Ozark, Arrested Development, Schitt’s Creek, Yellowstone… Well, you get the picture.

“Travel…

It leaves you speechless, then turns you into
a storyteller.”

“Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.”
